Get ready for the powerboating event of the season . . . the Second Annual Ottawa River Poker Run for Easter Seals!

Bring your toys and rendezvous with your friends at Nepean Sailing Club (NSC) bright and early on Saturday, August 20, 2011. We'll meet and make plans for a fantastic day on the water. Boats will then depart for a series of checkpoints upriver, where they will collect their poker cards before returning to NSC at the end of the afternoon for prizes, a BBQ dinner and dancing under the stars to the fantastic blues-rock sound of River City Junction.
The Ottawa River Poker Run for Easter Seals is open to all powerboats and personal watercraft (jet-skis). Click here to read about our special registration bonus courtesy of Camp Fortune!

The course: Participants will depart Nepean Sailing Club in Britannia Bay and make their way upriver to the welcoming and historic town of Quyon, Quebec, with stops along the way at friendly Port of Call Marina, Constance Bay and Aylmer Island, for a return trip of approximately 70 km. Participants will enjoy a waterfront lunch in Quyon, hosted by the Quyon Lions Club.

What is a poker run?

A Poker Run is a rally in which participating boats travel to different locations to pick up playing cards. At the end of the event the cards are turned in and prizes are awarded for the top poker hands. Poker runs are controlled events that promote responsible boating by powerboat enthusiasts.

A poker run is not a race. Participants travel at their own speed, and there is no advantage to arriving first at any of the card stops. Poker runs are fun events that build community spirit and generate donations for a worthy cause.
